Perceptual derailment and confabulation in the Rorschach projective technique : A clinical report
نویسندگان
چکیده
Perceptual derailment and confabulations often appear in a subtle way, being processes addressable to the field of inner world, conditioning the diagnostic process. The present clinical report aims to explore the role of Rorschach projective technique in eliciting processes otherwise unsearchable. Psycho-diagnostics data were compared to other psychometric tests such as the MMPI-2 (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) and the POMS (Profile of Mood States) at time 0 and time 1 (after six months). Among these, the exploration of the projective process was crucial to understand the patient's mental functioning, as an elective instrument, thanks to its ambiguous nature, which leads to effectively explore both the inner world and the cognitive processes.

Projective identification and suicidal risk behaviour assessing a Rorschach protocol: a clinical case report
This paper highlights the clinical signs of suicidal risk behaviour assessing a Rorschach protocol. A 21-year-old female with a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder (BPD) and a history of suicide attempt, is assessed upon an accurate clinical and personality evaluation with the Rorschach projective method. Authors discuss by a clinical and psychoanalytical perspective the role of projec...

I am pleased to have this opportunity to respond to the article on the Rorschach Test in clinical diagnosis since my 1947 article seemed to be at least a partial focus of the critical comments. I also will try to comply with the editor’s request for a “short rejoinder” to this lengthy article. In addition, although I felt the tone of the manuscript was overly haughty in criticizing an article p...
متن کاملThe Scientific Status of Projective Techniques.
Although projective techniques continue to be widely used in clinical and forensic settings, their scientific status remains highly controversial. In this monograph, we review the current state of the literature concerning the psychometric properties (norms, reliability, validity, incremental validity, treatment utility) of three major projective instruments: Rorschach Inkblot Test, Thematic Ap...

Logically, though not historically, projective techniques must be regarded as a part of the general field of psychological measurement. Projective testing and research may therefore legitimately be studied within the theoretical and methodologicall framework of psychological measurement, always keeping in mind, of course, the problems that are peculiar to projective techniques. Largely as a.. r...
